Maria Condado’s paintings are characterised by an assumed structuring of the field of vision, where figuration is initially developed on one plane, from which a horizon line opens out to tendentially monochromatic skies, which are texturally rich and intricately worked. The compositions now on display encapsulate a vision that freely and playfully interacts with the idea of a balanced and sustainable world. (Marta Moreira de Almeida)
